Spice it Up
Beaded lanyards can be a fun and interesting way to spice up any outfit. Making your own beaded lanyard would add a touch of your own personality to it. You could even create beaded lanyards for friends and family for true homemade gifts with a personal touch. It’s simple and easy to make your own beaded lanyard, but how do you do it? Read on to find out!
First things first, you need Supplies
First, you will need to assemble your supplies. To make a beaded lanyard, you will need:
Tiger tail or beading wire
Crimp beads and crimp bead covers
Velcro, link or magnetic clasp
Key ring
Lanyard hook
Beading pliers or needle nose pliers
Assortment of beads
Step 2
Collect your beads, and decide how you would like your lanyard to look. Start threading your beads on each wire. Try not to string more than one or two beads at a time on one wire, so that you can easily match the pattern you are creating on the other wire for an even, stylish look.
Once you have finished beading your lanyard, string a crimp bead on either wire, and tie off the ends. Attach the ends of the wire to your Velcro clasp (or whatever clasp you chose to use for your lanyard). Move the crimp beads up over the knots and crimp them with your pliers. Then, crimp a bead cover on top to secure the knots.Step 1
To begin your beaded lanyard, measure two equal pieces of tiger tail or beading wire to your desired length. 24 inches seems to work well for most people. Tie off one side of each wire to the key ring. To secure the wire to the key ring, string a crimp bead on each wire, and pull the crimp bead down to the knot of the wire on the key ring. Use your pliers to crimp the bead over the knot, then place a crimp bead cover over this to secure it.
Step 3
Cut off any excess wire as far down to the knot as you can get. Make sure everything is tight and secure. Attach the lanyard hook to the key ring, and your beaded lanyard is complete!
Don't bead? Not a problem!
But if you don’t bead, and don’t want to bead, you can still own a fabulous stylish beaded lanyard. Just visit www.BooJeeBeads.com and you’ll have so many choices you’ll think you’re in “beaded lanyard heaven.”
Tips:
To create an interesting style, use a mix of seed and bugle beads and alternate with larger beads. You can use red and green beads to create a beaded Christmas lanyard, or mix and match other bold colors for other holiday lanyards. Add some charms or other interesting pieces to your beadwork to create something unique. Or, pick up some alphabet beats and spell out your name to create a truly personal beaded lanyard.
Beaded lanyards are so easy to make, and they really are a cute and stylish way to complete any outfit for work. They make excellent handmade gifts for anyone in your family who has a hard time keeping track of small, important objects, like keys, IPods, or USB drives. Create your own collection of personalized beaded lanyards to make sure you always have a lanyard to match your outfit. What are you thinking about this hub so far?Loading...

A photo would be nice to add to instructions.
Thanks for the instructions. Beaded lanyards are a great stylish alternative to plain one-color lanyards. Some employees may feel bitter about being forced to wear unattractive lanyards. By giving them options that match their clothing & style, they are much more likely to wear their lanyards and feel good about it.

Great article on beaded lanyards! Well done! I mostly write about branded lanyards which have been printed on for marketing and promotion but these are beautiful and are far more personal. Thanks.
